At Coliman Bananas, we firmly believe that agricultural development must go hand in hand with respect for human rights, worker welfare, and environmental stewardship. That is why we are part of AHIFORES (the International Fruit and Vegetable Alliance for the Promotion of Social Responsibility), an organization that, like us, strives for a fairer, more humane, and more sustainable fruit and vegetable industry.

What is AHIFORES?

AHIFORES is a national alliance of producers, exporters, civil society organizations, and academics whose objective is to promote social responsibility in Mexico’s agricultural sector. Since its founding in 2015, AHIFORES has promoted good labor practices, decent working conditions, and compliance with national and international standards on human rights, health, and the environment.

We are proud to have been part of this collaborative network for seven years. As an associated company, we constantly work to implement and strengthen responsible practices in all our processes, from cultivation to marketing. This includes actions such as:

• Guaranteeing decent and safe working conditions for our employees.

• Promoting equity, inclusion, and respect in each of our operating units.

• Promoting the continuous training and comprehensive development of our teams.

• Maintaining high environmental sustainability standards in our operations.

Additionally, we actively participate in initiatives, forums, and training sessions organized by AHIFORES. We learn from other experiences, share our own practices, and always seek to improve.

We believe the success of the Mexican agri-food sector should be measured not only by the tons of produce exported, but also by the positive impact we have on the lives of the people who make each harvest possible. That is why building alliances, such as the one with AHIFORES, is essential to promoting well-being, respect, and social responsibility in rural communities.

In 2025, we held the third annual Don Jorge Aguilar Heredia Award. This award honors the memory and legacy of our founder while recognizing individuals within our organization who embody our core values: honesty, respect, reliability, and humanism.

As in previous years, our employees actively participated in the voting process, selecting the individual who consistently inspires others with their commitment to building a better working and human environment.

This year’s winner was Audee Ríos Canobbio, an exceptional employee recognized for her integrity, her close relationships with her colleagues, and her unwavering commitment to doing things the right way. Audee embodies the spirit of Don Jorge: a leader with strong values and a genuine commitment to the greater good.

Through this award, we reaffirm that at Coliman Bananas – AGGALL Group, our values are lived, not just stated. We congratulate Audee and thank all the employees who participated in this heartfelt initiative.

At Coliman Bananas, we believe in the power of bringing people together for causes that really matter. That’s why we are proud to share with you the great success of the races organized by our Don Jorge Aguilar Heredia Foundation, recently held in Tecomán and Hermosillo on the occasion of its third anniversary.

Both events brought together hundreds of participants – employees, families, athletes and the community in general – who ran not only for health and enjoyment, but also for a good cause: to continue promoting the welfare, health, education and community development programs that the Foundation carries out in different regions of the country.

The Tecomán edition was met with great enthusiasm and energy. From the very beginning, the atmosphere was filled with music, smiles and sportsmanship. Participants enjoyed 3K and 5K runs, with courses designed for all levels. The community responded with massive participation and a spirit that reaffirms our commitment to social welfare.

Hermosillo was not far behind. The race attracted runners of all ages who, as in Tecomán, ran for a cause that leaves its mark. The participation was exemplary, and the event was carried out with joy, safety and camaraderie.

These achievements would not have been possible without the support of the large family of Coliman Bananas, collaborators, volunteers and sponsors who believe in the impact of the Don Jorge Aguilar Heredia Foundation. Every step taken in these races is another step towards stronger, healthier and more united communities.

En Coliman Bananas, valoramos y celebramos las tradiciones que forman parte de nuestra identidad cultural. Este año, con gran entusiasmo, organizamos el Concurso de Altar de Muertos durante el mes de noviembre, un evento que no solo honra a nuestros seres queridos que ya no están, sino que también fomenta la creatividad, el trabajo en equipo y el espíritu comunitario entre nuestros colaboradores.

El concurso tuvo como objetivo principal mantener viva esta hermosa tradición mexicana, que es Patrimonio Cultural Inmaterial de la Humanidad. Los colaboradores se organizaron en equipos y pusieron en práctica su ingenio y creatividad para diseñar altares únicos y significativos. Cada altar contó una historia, reflejando las raíces culturales y los valores que compartimos como equipo Coliman.

Durante el evento, pudimos admirar el esmero y la dedicación con que cada equipo recreó los elementos esenciales de un altar tradicional: fotografías, veladoras, flores de cempasúchil, papel picado y ofrendas. También se incluyeron detalles innovadores que resaltaron la originalidad y el talento de nuestros colaboradores.

El jurado, compuesto por representantes de diferentes áreas, tuvo la difícil tarea de elegir a los ganadores. Se tomaron en cuenta aspectos como la creatividad, el diseño, el apego a la tradición y el mensaje transmitido y los equipos ganadores fueron los siguientes:

Primer lugar: Equipo en Candelaria, Tecomán, Colima.

Segundo lugar:  Equipo en Tapachula, Chiapas.

Tercer lugar: Empate entre el equipo en Palenque y el equipo Logística, ambos en Tecomán, Colima.

Este tipo de actividades son esenciales para fortalecer los lazos entre nuestros colaboradores y recordar la importancia de preservar nuestras tradiciones. En Coliman Bananas, estamos comprometidos no solo con la excelencia en nuestro trabajo, sino también con la promoción de valores culturales que enriquezcan nuestra comunidad.
